She’s known for pulling out all the stops for special editions of the daytime programme alongside co-host Phillip Schofield.

And Holly Willoughby was up to her regular tricks as she arrived late to the ITV studios to announce This Morning’s upcoming Halloween episode on Monday.

Revealing the duo will follow a Wizard of Oz theme for the celebration, the presenter, 38, left her TV husband, 57, in stitches when she skipped down a yellow brick in Dorothy Gale’s ruby slippers and enthused ‘there’s no place like This Morning’.

Opening up the show, a concerned Phil told viewers: ‘Holly is running a bit late today, I don’t know why she doesn’t follow my directions. There’s only one road to follow!’

The blonde beauty made quite the entrance as she skipped to the show along a yellow brick road in her red sparkly heels.

Struggling to keep her balance, the giddy ITV star complained: ‘I can’t practise that, I’ve only got my new ruby slippers today. I did it so well in rehearsals, every time!’

Dancing On Ice host Phil joked: ‘This is the first time I’ve ever seen you nearly fall over in heels.’

‘I haven’t got my full license to wear these slippers yet! There’s no place like This Morning, for sure!’

The 1900 children’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which has been adapted into several movies and theatre productions, follows the story of Dorothy and her dog Toto, who are forced to relocate to the magical land of Oz following a tornado.

The pair meet a Scarecrow, a Tin Man and a Cowardly Lion enroute to Emerald City to meet the Wizard, who orders the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West.

On October 31, fans can expect to see Phil transform into the Scarecrow, while Holly will portray the role of Dorothy.

The dynamic pair have launched Wizard Of Pawz: Our Search for Toto – a nationwide search for a dog to win the role of a lifetime as Toto for the Halloween episode.

The quest will be led by This Morning’s Kem Cetinay and the entrants will be assessed by judges including Ashleigh Butler – who, alongside the late Pudsey, were the first dog trick act to win Britain’s Got Talent, Dr. Scott Miller – This Morning’s resident vet and Oli Juste – dog behaviourist.

On her role, Ashleigh Butler explained: ‘Toto is the ultimate dog role and I can’t wait to see the breadth of doggy talent on offer from This Morning viewers’ pet pooches.’

This Morning Editor Martin Frizell added: ‘The Wizard of Oz is one of Hollywood’s oldest, most famous and much loved stories.

‘And with the 1939 Judy Garland film celebrating its 80th birthday this year, our This Morning Halloween show is set to be the best reimagining yet.’

This Morning does the ‘Wizard of Oz’, Thursday 31st October from 10:30am on ITV.
